Nickel Alloy 718

(UNS N07718) Alloy 718 is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy with the ability to be age-hardened for maximum mechanical properties. This hardening property is achieved by the specific additions of niobium, titanium, and aluminum. It is designed to display exceptionally high yield, tensile, and creep rupture properties at temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C). Common uses for 718 are found in high speed aerospace parts where temperature resistance is needed, such as jet engine, wheels, buckets, spacers and high temperature bolts and fasteners. It finds engineering use in drilling equipment and pump shafts for oil and gas exploration and production.
